Artist Profile: Donna Dubsky

Last Updated 12/12/2025

Rooted in Columbus, Inspired by the World

Born and raised in Columbus, Nebraska, Donna Dubsky has spent a lifetime exploring the beauty of the world through art. Her work reflects both her deep local roots and her expansive creative spirit. A proud member of the Columbus Art Artists group, Donna brings extraordinary range, curiosity and dedication to every piece she creates.

A Master of Many Mediums

Donna is a true multidisciplinary artist, working with watercolor, batik, graphite, acrylic, pastel, photography, bronze sculpture and mixed media. Her artistic voice shifts effortlessly between abstract and realistic styles, giving her work a unique breadth rarely found in a single creator.

Her inspiration flows from many sources -- live models, still-life setups, and the natural beauty of God's world. Whether painting "en plein air," capturing a moment through photography, or creating from memory and imagination, Donna's work reflects both skill and spirit.

The Heart of an Artist and the Mind of a Teacher

Over the course of her career, Donna has received numerous awards for her artwork, recognizing her creativity, craftsmanship, and versatility. But her impact extends far beyond her personal achievements. She has shared her knowledge with others by teaching youth drawing classes in her home and adult education courses through Central Community College. Her commitment to nurturing creativity in others has left a lasting imprint on artists of all ages.

Creative Expression in Every Form

Donna's artistic approach is rooted in exploration and interpretation. Her work ranges from delicately rendered graphite pieces to boldly colored pastels, from expressive watercolors to richly detailed batik. When working in bronze or mixed media, she embraces texture and form with the same passion she brings to paint and paper.

Each piece reflects her deep curiosity and her desire to capture the world as she sees and feels it.
