The TRAX Creative District is home to a growing collection of public art that now includes 26 sculptures and murals throughout the Trackside District in downtown Columbus. Each piece adds its own unique character, perspective, and creativity to the district, creating an experience that continues to evolve each year. Whether you are a longtime resident or visiting downtown for the first time, the Sculpture & Mural Walk offers a unique way to explore Columbus through art.
To enhance your visit, the free Otocast app transforms your phone into a self-guided tour experience. As you move throughout the Creative District, the app provides audio tours, artist commentary, and background stories behind many of the sculptures and murals. Visitors can hear directly from participating artists and gain a deeper understanding of the inspiration, process, and meaning behind the artwork.
Printed self-guided tour brochures are also available at the brochure stand located at the southwest corner of Frankfort Square, making it easy to explore at your own pace.
While discovering the artwork, visitors are encouraged to experience everything the Trackside District has to offer—from local boutiques and restaurants to coffee shops, entertainment, and gathering spaces throughout downtown.

Welcome to the Columbus Sculpture Walk—an evolving public art experience located throughout the Trackside District in downtown Columbus, Nebraska. Presented in partnership with Sculpture Walk Across Nebraska (SWAN) and supported by the City of Columbus, local sponsors, and community partners, the Sculpture Walk brings rotating works of art into everyday public spaces where residents and visitors can experience them year-round.
Each year, a new collection of sculptures is installed throughout downtown, featuring artists from Nebraska and across the country. The program highlights a variety of artistic styles, materials, and perspectives while creating opportunities for the community to engage with art in an accessible and interactive way. Sculptures are available for public viewing and many are also offered for purchase.
The Sculpture Walk is designed to encourage exploration of downtown Columbus and the Trackside District. As visitors move from one sculpture to the next, they can also discover local shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, murals, and gathering spaces that contribute to the district’s unique character and atmosphere.
The program continues to grow each year with additional sculpture locations and new installations added throughout the district. Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning to see the newest additions, the Columbus Sculpture Walk offers a fresh way to experience downtown through creativity, culture, and community connection.
