Why public art matters: Let’s keep Tatanka! 💖🦬💖
Did you know that public art helps individuals form a sense of self-identity? 😊
Growing up in a community can mean a lot of things- but one of them is attaching our identity to a bit of nostalgia. We remember things fondly- like feeding the ducks at a local pond🦆, or the location where we’ve seen the little ones wait to see Santa🎅🏼every year. Take Tatanka, for example. It’s not just a piece of art, it’s packed with symbolism. If you learn more about it, you’ll see how someone from Nebraska might feel a deep connection to it. And its location in the heart of our community makes it part of so many great memories for people.
We are asking for help to keep this bit of nostalgia right where it belongs, adding meaning to our lives and memories for years to come.
