Forged Field Artist Spotlight: Meet Jennifer Novak Haar
About the Artist
As part of our Forged Fields: The Art of Agriculture exhibit, we're proud to feature the vibrant, detail rich work of Jennifer Novak Haar, an accomplished wildlife and nature photographer based in Omaha, Nebraska. Through her lens, Jennifer captures moments we often overlook. The flutter of a wing, the delicate curve of a flower petal and the quiet elegance of a landscape.
Seeing What the Eye Misses
Jennifer didn't begin her photography journey until 2017, but in eight years she has created an impressive and award-winning body of work. Her passion lies in capturing the beauty and vibrancy of nature, from the tiniest insect to sweeping rural landscapes.
"I love being able to see details with a camera that I wouldn't have noticed with my eyes," she says. "My stress melts away and I lose track of time. There are always so many things to see and experience."
It's that sense of wonder and presence that shines through in every image. Her work reminds us how much beauty is all around us when we simply stop to look.
Passion and Purpose in Every Frame
For Jennifer, photography is more than a technical pursuit. It's a way to share her excitement and deep appreciation for the natural world. "I hope people viewing my photos see the passion and joy I feel when I'm taking them," she says.
As both a photographer and a professional pianist, Jennifer brings an artist's eye and a musician's sensitivity to everything she does. Her advice to emerging creatives? "Keep learning. Always strive to be better. And keep your eyes open for opportunities to use your creativity."
