Art, Design & Community with Yaramis "Yara" Ramos

The Columbus Art Gallery and the Trax Creative District are excited to invite the community to an opening reception celebrating the work of multidisciplinary designer and muralist Yaramis "Yara" Ramos. This special afternoon will highlight Yara's creative journey, her impact on Columbus through public art and design, and the vibrant role art plays in bringing people together.

Yara's work blends thoughtful design, bold visual storytelling and community connection. With more than 20 years of experience and a background rooted in both graphic design and fine art, her creations reflect a balance of aesthetic beauty, function and meaningful communication.

Opening Reception Details

The opening reception offers an opportunity to meet the artist, explore the exhibit, and enjoy an afternoon centered around creativity and community. The reception will be Sunday, January 4 from 4-6 p.m. in the Columbus Art Gallery on the second floor of the Columbus Community Building at 2500 14 St. 

Adding to the experience, the reception will also feature live music, creating a welcoming and energetic atmosphere throughout the gallery. Music will be provided by Ethian Alejandro.

About the Exhibit

This exhibit showcases Yara's multidisciplinary approach, drawing from her extensive background in graphic design, branding and public art. As a muralist, many of her works can be seen throughout Columbus including murals at Artzy Haven, Frankfort Square, Market 23, the Columbus Community Building and the Innovation Center. This exhibit offers visitors a chance to experience her work in a gallery setting while learning more about the ideas and principles that guide her creative process.

Gallery Hours

The exhibit will be on display beyond the opening reception, giving visitors multiple opportunities to stop in and experience the work. 

Gallery Hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday from 1-5 p.m.
  • Saturday from 1-4 p.m.

The exhibition will be on display until January 29.
