Meet the Artist: Linda Wheatley

Last Updated 12/10/2025

Where Experiment Meets Art

Linda Wheatley, a Columbus native, has been an art lover for as long as she can remember. After retiring from her career as a kindergarten teacher, she finally had the opportunity to devote more time to exploring her creative passions. She describes herself as an "experimental" artist -- always wondering, "What if I try...?" and allowing curiosity to guide her process.

Favorite Mediums

Linda's current favorite mediums include clay, hand-built functional and decorative pieces, and mixed media collage. No matter what's she creating, each piece is infused with intention, joy, and genuine love. Her work reflects both her playful spirit and her desire to continually learn, grow and experiment.

Winter Market

This winter, Linda is one of ten featured artists in the Winter Market at the Columbus Art Gallery, where shoppers can find unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for the holidays. The gallery is open Monday - Thursday from 1-5 p.m. and Saturday from 1-4 p.m., offering the perfect opportunity to enjoy local art and discover something special.
