A group of vastly diversified art lovers and artists of all skill levels from beginners to professionals who work in many different mediums. All age levels are represented and we welcome anyone.
Officially organized in July of 1970, the group chose the name Columbus Area Artists to indicate that not all members were Columbus residents but rather from the surrounding area as well. Twenty-four members of the group elected Chauncey Nelson as president, Marjorie Corn as vice-president, Opal Rundquist as secretary and Ruth Payzant as treasurer. In September of the same year, the CAA became the 42nd member club in the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs, Inc.
