New Sculptures Coming to the Trackside District
If you’ve walked through Downtown Columbus recently, you may have noticed some exciting changes happening along the streets of the Trackside District. The sculpture change-out is officially underway!
De-install was the Beginning of Change Out
Each year, the Trax Creative District works to bring fresh artwork to the Trackside District as part of our Sculpture/Mural Walk, and that process is happening right now. The sculptures that have graced our sidewalks for the past year are being carefully removed to make way for a new round of incredible public art, and the full installation will be completed by May 10.
Sneak Peek -- Local Artist Featured
To give you a sneak peek—the very first sculpture installed this year is by local artist Joseph Krings of Lindsay, Nebraska. His piece, Hunting Buddy, is already in place at the corner of 24th Avenue and 13th Street, right in front of Columbus Screen Printing. It's a fantastic example of how local talent can help bring energy, creativity, and a sense of place to our downtown area.
Special Thanks
The Trax Creative District and the Trackside District would like to thank everyone involved in making this annual installation possible, from the artists and installers to the business owners who provide space and support for public art.More to Come
Keep your eyes open—more sculptures are on the way! And don’t forget to watch for the updated Sculpture/Mural Walk brochures, which will be available soon. With beautiful, thought-provoking art popping up all over the Trackside District, now is the perfect time to come downtown, explore, and see everything our vibrant district has to offer.Trackside District -- Downtown Columbus
