Open Exhibit- "Telling Stories"
Exhibition hours Columbus Community Building
You are invited to view the exhibition Telling Stories, featuring the landscape artwork of Jim Davis.
Since retiring from the Columbus Fire Department in 2021, Jim has committed more of his time and focus to musical performance and painting. He has completed many works in watercolor as well as oil paints. He has entered local, regional and national competitions and has won numerous awards. His most recent effort is to paint one small oil painting every day for at least 100 days. These small paintings will be featured in this exhibit to narrate part of Jim’s story.
For this exhibit, Jim has curated two distinct areas of the gallery: one that highlights Columbus’ story through portrayals of iconic local buildings and landscapes and another that tells of his personal journey as a visual artist.
Jim currently resides in Columbus NE. He is well known in the area for his talent as a musician and a vocalist who performs with several local bands as well as entertaining as a solo artist. This exhibit aims to showcase another side of Jim’s creativity: his work as a visual artist and painter.
Hope to see you there!
Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 1-5 pm, and Saturday 1-4pm. The Gallery is located on the 2nd floor of the Columbus Community Building.
